Diapers consist of several layers: top sheet, absorbent core, distribution layer, absorbent pad (absorbent core), back sheet, and elements such as front tape and side tape and possibly waistband and leg elastic.

In addition to inspecting the manufactured product, machine vision cameras at various stations on the production line can detect potential defects in rolls such as stains or tears. Early detection of these defects helps increase company profitability.

The software written by the Vision Inspection team does the following and reports errors:

  • Presence or absence of absorbent pad
  • Pad impurity
  • Pad placement
  • Presence and completeness of the absorbent layer
  • Separation in the absorbent layer

Other Inspectable Defects

Items such as presence, completeness, and location of side tapes, front tape of the diaper, waistband and leg elastic, and the presence of foreign particles on the diaper surface can also be easily controlled by machine vision system.
